East TX Football

I mentioned a little bit about my upbringing in this post, and today's post gives you an even further look into my roots. I'm a Texan, born and raised, and along with many of the other wonderful things that came with growing up in such a mighty state, is maybe the most hailed of them all: yes, Football.

Nearly every boy grows up to at least play little league football, and many of those little guys grow up to play well into adulthood. Almost everyone in my family has played and those of us who didn't were either watching the games or participating in other ways. I was in the stands with the band every Friday night in high school and loved every minute of playing stand tunes, cheering for the guys on the field, and performing our show at halftime.

My brother-in-law especially loves football. Josh and I had the privilege of driving out to East TX to watch him (#50) kick butt in his alumni football game yesterday afternoon. Most everyone from his side of the family and ours came to watch, and my niece cheered her little heart out for her daddy the entire time. It was beyond cute. Hair was buzzed into a mohawk, homemade shakers were shaken to death, feet were stomped in a crazy rhythm on the bleachers, and old men yelled ridiculous threats at the refs, all in the name of Texas Football. Needless to say, we had an awesome time!

Here are a few photos from the day:

Photos were also bombed...NATHAN! ;)

Congrats on the win #50! We love you guys!

**Sorry to all my readers for being MIA on the Boot Series Sneak Peek yesterday. Family and football took priority. The sneak peek will be up later this afternoon and the full boot post will be up tomorrow. See you then!**
