The latest update on life is...we are under contract on a house! Woo! We're crossing our fingers that everything goes well and that we'll be settling into our first home come October. I don't feel as excited about this house as I did about the last one (see: I am Giddy, Oh So Giddy...), but I'm not sure why. It's a lovely home with plenty of space, and it's in an awesome location, so I really have no complaints. And I mean, it's a HOME. A. Home. I am truly grateful to just be moving to a place with a little more room for us to stretch our legs and to welcome our new babe. I think I just got so excited about the last one that I wore myself out :). I'm seeing this one from a different perspective - more grateful and less 'it's party time baby' if that makes any sense. I was telling Josh last week that if I could cross even one thing off of my list, I'd feel one million times better (less stressed). So, this is that one thing. The house hunting part is done, and now we just take care of the details (inspection, etc) and head for closing! I'm excited to finally have a space to host in. Our apartment is so small that I've never been able to host parties or get togethers. I look forward to welcoming people into our home with good food and my own personal touches (some via Pinterest, of course haha).
I still haven't had to purchase any maternity clothes yet, but I think I've scored the perfect transitional dress. I bought it right before TxSC with the intention of beating the heat in Austin with thin, flowing material and light colors. It was definitely an ideal purchase! I bought it with my growing belly in mind too. I hope it will last me throughout the pregnancy. Even if my bump eventually pulls up the length though, and I end up having to throw some tights under it, the weather can only get cooler in the coming months anyway, so it's a win/win. I think it would look pretty cute with a pair of tights and my favorite boots (see: Tuck, Tie and Roll). Yay for transitional pieces!
Josh and I had a fun date this weekend and I'll be back later this week with a recap. Can't wait to share it! Have a wonderful week sweet friends.
